Great crowd at College Park (10,223) to see the Blue Jays 7-4 victory over the top-ranked Maryland Terrapins. This was the 1,000th lacrosse game for the University of Maryland and the game had a playoff atmosphere at Byrd Stadium. See more of my game photos here. My weekend of games
started Friday evening in DC with the Georgetown Prep vs. Gonzaga game. This is
always a good rivalry game between the two Jesuit boy’s high schools in the
area. Not much of a game this year with
Gonzaga walking away with the win.
Overall, I was happy with my photos and this field has some clean backgrounds
and not much to clutter-up the shots.
Saturday started at
the St Stephen’s & St Agnes Spring Fling in Alexandria. This event brings some of the better girl’s
high school teams from around the country to start the beginning of the high
school season. Four games with Good
Counsel, New Tier (Chicago), Georgetown Visitation, Radnor (Philadelphia),
Academy of the Holy Cross, Collegiate (Richmond), St. Stephan’s & St Agnes
and John Carroll.

My
day started in College Park with UNC vs. Maryland at noon and then to Baltimore
to catch the second game of the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Classic with UVA vs.
JHU. The MD-UNC game was at noon and I was struggling with finding the right
settings and the right position on the field. The second game in Baltimore was much
better with the later afternoon sun allowing for some great shots.
Great weather in DC and the first warm day of the year with everyone outside and thinking Spring is here. College Park was busy with softball, wrestling and lacrosse games all at the same time. The upcoming lacrosse season is around the corner and it always seems to jump up on me, it's 15 degrees outside and the first games are less than a month away.
As we close 2012 it is good to look back and review my favorite shots from both from the games I attended and also from other photographers. Inside Lacrosse magazine just posted their Best Of 2012 features and it was good to see a few of mine selected with the men's and women's features.
