Go Irish and See You Monday

Notre Dame was unseated entering the tournament and many thought they Notre Dame should not have been selected limping to a 7-6 finish that featured losses to Rutgers, Fairfield, Villanova and Georgetown.   What a great time to start playing to their potential with a win over Cornell and a date with Duke for the national championship on Monday.

Beyond The Barricade Photography

Below are some photographs that my daughter Cara took last weekend at the Bamboozle Roadshow in Meriwether Pavilion.  I am very proud of her and glad to see here photography growing and getting better at each shot.  Check out the rest of her work here.

The Girls are Going to States

I really enjoy shooting girls lacrosse; the girl’s game has so much more emotion than the boys and men’s game.   The girl’s game is entirely different on the field and it takes some getting in the shooting flow from the boys game.   Too bad for Churchill to make it this far and get blown out by a very good C.Milton Wright team.   Montgomery County is still a few years behind the Baltimore teams in lacrosse.

Good luck to South River and C.M. Wright in the State Finals next week.

Skins-Boys, Caps-Pens, Prep-Landon...

This is one of my favorites and I look forward to this IAC match-up each year.   You can feel the pre-game excitement of a pro playoff game as the players warn-up and the fans arrive.  One thing for sure, no matter the record, there are no favorites in Prep Landon lacrosse games (Prep beat Gonzaga by 12 earlier in the season and Landon then lost to Gonzaga 6-7).  Prep Landon has to be on the DC sports landscape as a must see.

Terps Over the Stags

Fairfield University had no chance against #3 University of Maryland, as the Terps scored early and often for a 17-4 rout on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.  Thanks to Patrick, the Maryland Media Relations Director, for the help with the photo credential.
