MadLax Summer Tour Finale

Spent the weekend shooting the MadLax Summer Tour Finale tournament at the Soccerplex this weekend.   It was great to see all the family support for these kids with 100 degree record breaking heat.  I think I can finally say this was the last lacrosse event of the year.   Thanks to Cabell Maddux for the opportunity to shoot for his tournament again, these players really look up to Cabell and his staff at MadLax.   View and Buy Photos from the Summer Tour Finale Tournament Here

130 Degrees and a Great Day for Lacrosse

130o on the turf field and I am complaining about just sitting and shooting the adidas National Lacrosse Classic? I have no idea how they are playing their third game today, maybe being 17 has something to do with it?

The adidas National Lacrosse Classic features the Top 500 Underclassmen standouts in the country selected to play for their regional team.

The winner of the national finals (Maryland Prep) will qualify to play for the Brogden Cup against the best team in Canada later in the year.

Under Armour All America Lacrosse

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to shoot the Under Armour All America games again this year. This was my third year shooting the All America games and this weekend is the equivalent to the US Army All-American Bowl but with lacrosse. It was great see all the teams, players and families from around the country and this tight lacrosse community. Thanks to IL for the help with the credentials and media pass.

We All Love Giada

Patti and I just got back from a weekend of great food and wine at the Food and Wine Classic in Aspen. This was the first time I have been to the Colorado Rockies in the summer and it was great to see all the green in the valley and still a little snow at the top of the mountains. We stayed at the Regis Hotel which was great enough even before they offered the use of a brand new E Class Convertible for the afternoon. We took a ride in the mountains and some great photo opportunities. Thanks to our friend Peter and Isabella for the invitation and all the support your give Patti at work.
 

The Perfect Heisman

I did not win any of the prizes in the ESPN The Shot photo contest, but I still feel good that ESPN one of of my favorites as their headline graphic.  Maybe next year...

Tewaaraton Award Banquet

This was my third year covering the The Tewaaraton Awards for Inside Lacrosse and I enjoy learning more about the history of the game and its roots with American Indian heritage. The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award honoring the top female and male varsity collegiate lacrosse player in the United States (think Heisman Trophy, only for Lacrosse). 


I guess this also ends the official lacrosse season for me.   The sport is great with freezing early games to the 140 degree field last weekend at M&T Bank stadium for the NCAA finals. 

4 Seconds and it is Over

Two different set of emotions in the final frames from the weekend.  The looks on the Notre Dame players faces as they watch the reply of the overtime Duke says it all.   Also, love the cameras in the frames trying to get the Duke celebration, I guess I am just taller than the rest to get the view of all the cameras.  Scott Rodgers really shows his leadership after the game in telling his team mates to pick-up their heads and walk-off the field as winners. Go Irish!
